Loftlines team grows as new Belfast neighbourhood prepares to open

Robert Walker has been appointed as Building Services Manager at Loftlines, the new Build-to-Rent neighbourhood in Titanic Quarter, which is set to welcome its first residents this summer.

He will lead a team of maintenance operatives on site, strengthening the delivery of repairs, upkeep and hands-on support for residents, including helping them personalise their homes.

As part of the growing on-site team led by General Manager Neil Allen, Robert will also oversee the safe and efficient operation of the building’s systems and infrastructure, harnessing his experience in mechanical maintenance and compliance across a range of large-scale environments in Belfast and beyond.

Loftlines is a 627-home development in Titanic Quarter that combines high-quality rental homes with shared spaces. Residents will have access to co-working areas, a gym, lounges and roof terraces, while shops, cafés and services at ground level will help create a vibrant neighbourhood.

As Northern Ireland’s first Build-to-Rent (BTR) development, Loftlines brings a new type of professionally managed rental living to Belfast, supported by a dedicated on-site team that Robert will be part of.

Robert Walker, Building Services Manager at Loftlines, said:
“At Loftlines, everything has been set up around how people actually live day to day – whether that’s working from home, meeting friends, or using the different spaces throughout the building. You only really understand the scale of what’s on offer when you experience it in full and I’m looking forward to people seeing that for themselves.

“There’s so much more than people might expect, with a real mix of places to spend time, alongside everything happening at ground level, with shops, cafés and spaces that make it feel like a neighbourhood. As a team, we’ll be there day-to-day to make sure everything runs as it should, so people can get on with their routines and make the most of it.”

Loftlines forms part of a new residential neighbourhood in Titanic Quarter, bringing new homes and year-round activity to one of Belfast’s most well-connected waterfront locations. The pet-friendly development is designed to support modern renting, with a focus on flexibility and day-to-day convenience. Tenancies are designed to be flexible and range from six months to five years.

The scheme is funded by Legal & General as part of its established UK Build-to-Rent portfolio, with a £150 million investment in the homes.

Adam Burney, Head of Build-to-Rent at Legal & General, said:
“Building the right on-site team is a key part of bringing Loftlines to life as we get closer to welcoming our first residents. Build-to-Rent communities like Loftlines rely on the dedicated site team to deliver an excellent resident experience, from community events to maintenance and repairs.

“We’ve seen how well this approach works in other cities, and Loftlines brings that to Belfast for the first time. Robert’s appointment as Building Services Manager is an important part of that, helping to ensure the building is set up to deliver the kind of experience people expect from a professionally managed neighbourhood.”

Robert will be part of the on-site team at Loftlines representing urbanbubble, a specialist Build-to-Rent property management operator which manages high-quality rental communities across the UK.
