A glittering array of sporting talent was on parade in Belfast at the weekend for the annual Local Women Sports awards.
With Olympic gold medal winning legend Lady Mary Peters as chief guest, the event is the only dedicated women in all-sports gala awards ceremony in the whole of Ireland and the UK.
The ceremony marked the achievements of international athletes, most notably Olympic medallists Hannah Scott and Rebecca Shorten and athletes, Kate O’Connor and Ciara Mageean, alongside the feats of grassroots local sportswomen. Over 600 nominations were received and judged by an independent panel and we are delighted to share that Jacqui Pope was awarded Most Inspirational Sports Woman of the Year.
Later this month, Jacqui will join other female trail blazers in sport and business at Impact Players, a leadership conference for women in sport, where she will join the likes of Gabby Logan and Olympic swimmer Danielle Hill to share her leadership story.
Please join us in congratulating Jacqui on her success.
