IoT Belfast returns this September for an evening focused on the practical questions behind secure, trustworthy connected systems.
Held at Digital Catapult as part of Belfast Tech Week 2026, the meetup will look at how organisations can collect, share and use connected-device data while protecting privacy, security and identity.
The event will be hosted by Martin Naughton, an IoT and digital transformation expert in Belfast and founder of Galvia Digital. Martin facilitates IoT Belfast as a meeting point for the people building, researching and using connected technology across Northern Ireland.
Tim Wood will cover privacy-enhancing technologies for IoT, including federated learning and multi-party computation. Keerthi Thomas will discuss digital identity for IoT devices and autonomous agents, secure peer-to-peer connections, data provenance and decentralised access control. A third speaker will be announced.
The evening is open to developers, engineers, researchers, students and anyone interested in IoT, cybersecurity, AI or digital identity. Doors open at 6:30 pm, with talks from 7:10 pm and time afterwards for networking and refreshments.
