Belfast Telegraph launches NI Accountancy Awards, in partnership with Hire IQ

Entries have officially opened for the Belfast Telegraph’s inaugural Northern Ireland Accountancy Awards.

There are a range of categories for practices, individuals and teams in the private, public and voluntary sectors in Northern Ireland.

The deadline for entries is 8th September 2026, and the winners will be revealed at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday October 23rd at the Culloden Estate & Spa outside Belfast.

Categories include Best Place to Work in Accountancy; Deal of the Year; Corporate Advisory Team of the Year; Tax Team of the Year, Accountant of the Year and much more.

The awards are being run in partnership with HireIQ. Chartered Accountants Ireland are also an event partner.

The high-calibre independent judging panel will be chaired by Clare Guinness, CEO of Belfast Chamber.

Other judges include Zara Duffy, executive head of global engagement, Chartered Accountants Ireland; Ron Whitten, chartered accountant and former CFO at Henderson Group; Ian Sheppard, chartered accountant and former Northern Ireland managing director at Bank of Ireland; and John Hansen, chartered accountant and Chair of IOD Northern Ireland.

Queen’s University and Ulster University are also represented on the judging panel.

Danielle McConville is professor of accounting education, chartered accountant (CAI) and head of department for accounting at Queen’s Business School.

And from Ulster University, Laura Morgan, deputy head of department and learning, teaching and quality director of accounting, finance and economics.
