Belfast Grand Central Station – temporary closure of Europa Bus centre concourse for refurbishment

On behalf of Translink regarding temporary changes to pedestrian access to Belfast Grand Central Station.

For one week, from Monday 5th May to Sunday 11th May it will not be possible to access Belfast Grand Central Station via the former Europa Bus centre concourse.

Pedestrians who use this route are advised to access Belfast Grand Central Station via Hope St, Great Victoria St and Glengall St.

Signage will be in place to advise pedestrians.

This temporary closure is required by MRP developments who now manage the former Europa Buscentre concourse as part of the wider Weavers Cross Development.

This will facilitate enabling and fit out works for the new artisan food market and bar being introduced as a meanwhile use in the concourse area. This new city destination will be known as ‘Halt’.

Access to Great Northern Mall businesses will continue to be available via the Great Victoria St entrance.

Other routes to the station are unaffected.

For vehicle drop-off and pick-up at the station the following drop-off points are available:

Glengall Street – pick-up and drop-off is available on Glengall Street. Glengall Street can be accessed via the local access road from Durham Street.

St Andrew’s Square – (access and exit via Hope Street). Passengers being set down here during the temporary closure can walk via Hope St, Great Victoria St, and Glengall St and access the station via Saltwater Lane.

Value Car Parks – (access and exit via Grosvenor Road). Passengers can utilise the set down areas which are available on the first floor of the multi-story car park. The first ten minutes are free of change for cars using Value Car Parks. Passengers being set down at this point should access the new station via the Grosvenor Road entrance.
