In a heartwarming display of solidarity and generosity, the “Art for Life” Charity Exhibition & Art Sale, hosted at Ulster University in Belfast on 22nd – 26th February, marked a significant milestone. The event recognised the second anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, turning a somber remembrance into a proactive movement of support and resilience. Through the collective efforts of the Ukrainian community in Northern Ireland and benevolent supporters, the exhibition successfully raised a substantial sum of £6,123.49 for a noble cause.
This significant amount enabled the community to purchase an ambulance, which has been fully equipped with essential medical and humanitarian aid, destined for the war-torn areas of Ukraine. This vital contribution is set to play a crucial role in saving lives, demonstrating the powerful impact of community-led initiatives in times of crisis.
The success of the event was made possible by the enthusiastic participation of numerous local artists who generously donated their artwork, and the many attendees whose presence and purchases turned empathy into action. Ulster University played a pivotal role by providing a venue that brought together art lovers and philanthropists, further cementing its commitment to fostering community spirit and humanitarian outreach.
This event not only celebrates the successful fundraising initiative but also reinforces the strong ties of friendship and support between Northern Ireland and Ukraine.
