Belfast Harbour has received its first ever Green Flag Award, for City Quays Gardens, in recognition of the park’s contribution to creating a safe and welcoming green space for all. Inspired by Belfast’s rich maritime and industrial heritage, City Quays Gardens is the first project in Northern Ireland to be designed to One Planet Living environmental standards, reflecting Belfast Harbour’s commitment to sustainable development.
The Green Flag Award programme is managed by Live Here Love Here in Northern Ireland and is the benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces across the UK. The recognition follows Belfast Harbour Marina’s Blue Flag Award earlier this summer, marking a second major environmental accolade for Belfast Harbour this year.
