A hub – but not as you know it
Donegall Pass Community Enterprises (DPCE) is forging ahead with its flagship project to create a community hub, 19 new homes, and a base to support enterprise development, training and employment opportunities – repurposing the former PSNI station neighbouring Shaftesbury Square in the heart of Belfast.
It is working closely with Belfast City Council, The Executive Office and Clanmil to get the project up to speed. DPCE is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, dedicated to the regeneration of Donegall Pass and its surrounding areas. Its mission is to work in partnership with residents and stakeholders to create a safe, sustainable, and welcoming place for all to live, work, play, and grow.
Creating Board Opportunities Too
DPCE is calling on business leaders or professional looking to give back to their community, broaden their horizons, and make a tangible impact in Belfast by getting involved. It is seeking new Board Members, including a Chair, to help drive regeneration and positive change in one of the city’s most dynamic and diverse areas.
Why Join DPCE’s Volunteer Board?
Serving on the DPCE Board is a unique opportunity for business professionals to:
• Apply Your Skills for Social Good: We are seeking candidates with expertise in finance, human resources, building development, community engagement, governance, and senior management. Your business acumen will help shape strategy, ensure good governance, and drive sustainable growth.
• Expand Your Network: You’ll collaborate with a diverse team of passionate trustees, local leaders, and stakeholders from across the public, private, and voluntary sectors.
• Develop Leadership Experience: Board membership offers hands-on experience in strategic planning, risk management, and organisational leadership—skills that are highly valued in any sector.
• Make a Lasting Impact: Your contribution will help transform Donegall Pass, supporting its transition to a multicultural, thriving community and leaving a legacy for future generations.
• Personal Fulfilment: Many business leaders find that volunteering as a trustee brings a sense of purpose, new perspectives, and the satisfaction of seeing real change in their community.
What’s Involved?
Board meetings are currently held monthly (moving to every two months in 2026), typically on Monday or Tuesday evenings. Members may also join sub-committees focused on finance, development, or communications. A full induction and ongoing support are provided, ensuring members feel confident and equipped to contribute.
How to Show Your Interest
DPCE welcomes applications from individuals with business skills, charity or community experience, or a passion for regeneration.
