Destination Cathedral Quarter BID urges Businesses to use their Vote in Crucial September Re-Ballot

Destination CQ, the Business Improvement District (BID) for the Cathedral Quarter, has launched its business plan with a focus on investment to attract footfall and make the city cleaner, safer and greener over the next five years.

Almost 700 businesses eligible to vote have received ballot papers and copies of the plan and are asked to return their re-ballot papers by September 22nd as part of the official electoral process for the BID to secure a second term, with the result announced on 23rd September. Ballot papers must be posted to London in the SAE provided, so really papers would need to be in the post by Monday 20th Sept at the latest.

CQ BID Manager Damien Corr says that the BID will spend a minimum of £2,000,000.00 over the next 5 years. This is money that will otherwise not be invested in providing business support, driving down costs and promoting and animating a safer, greener more sustainable Cathedral Quarter. We need a YES vote to secure this additional money.

Mr Corr added, “we are excited for the opportunities coming down the line over the next 5 years in CQ. We believe that we have the passion and commitment to work with our businesses to enable them to take full advantage of the amazing portfolio of flagship developments planned for our area, but we can only do so if you use your ballot and post it off by the 20th”.
