Belfast Chamber meet SDLP at City Hall
Belfast Chamber Board members met SDLP representatives Nichola Mallon MLA, Councillor Donal Lyons and Councillor Tim Attwood at the City Hall to discuss issues relating to the city centre.
The need for reinvention of the city centre was raised, with the changing trends in retail and hospitality along with the need to increase the population of central Belfast and generate new jobs. Members’ concerns raised included security, parking, access and rates. Belfast Chamber pressed for a City Stakeholder Forum, to be convened by the City Council and to include Belfast Chamber and other business groups. Further engagement is planned to take these issues forward.
