Sparkling lights, beautiful baubles and scenic splendour – Belfast city centre is full of festive fun and brilliant buzz in the run up to Christmas.
And the city’s two most prominent business organisations, Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce and Belfast City Centre Management, have joined forces to launch the Christmas Window Dressing Competition.
The annual competition is open to all stores in the Belfast area and encourages as much participation as possible in the hope of spreading joy and fun festivities as well as boosting footfall to the city.
Michelle Greeves, President of Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce said: “Our annual window dressing competition is a great fun way of engaging with diverse range of retailers in Belfast, and rewarding their hard work and creativity – and of course encouraging to them to sprinkle a little magic into our shop fronts this Christmas.
“Each year we see fantastic festive creations and a real effort which adds a festive feel to our high street, with many visitors coming in to see the window displays alone.”
Geraldine Duggan, Belfast City Centre Manager continued, “We encourage every single store to get behind the competition and to really put the extra effort in in a bid to create a real festive, fun feel in the City Centre, which will attract more shoppers to our city. Judging will take place over the coming weeks and those that make the extra effort for creativity and flair will do well this year.”
The window dressing awards in the two categories of Best Independent Store and Best Multiple Store will be announced in early January 2018.
