City Centre Beat

The City Centre Beat policing Initiative provides two dedicated police officers to respond to quality of life issues for all people using the city centre.

  • Funded by the Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce
  • Managed through the offices of Belfast City Centre Management
  • The Initiative is dedicated to tackling anti-social behaviour on the “beat” in the city centre by providing enhanced levels of visible and accessible policing.

BCTC members have a dedicated telephone number to the City Centre Beat Officers.

Year six end of year results revealed that through working in partnership with Belfast City Council and other key agencies, the two officers have been successful in managing a wide range of anti-social issues including on-street drinking, begging, illegal street trading as well as addressing traffic congestion.
