Belfast Chamber says “Know Your Rights!”

Are you familiar with your rights and regulations as a business tenant?

Do you know what your renewal and rent review entitlements are?

Does your building require essential repairs and outstanding services? Do you know who’s responsible?

If not, Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce has the event for you.

In partnership with MKB Law and Lambert Smith Hampton, BCTC is hosting a workshop that will provide key information on the rights and regulations of business tenants.

The one-hour workshop will be held on Tuesday 24th June 2014, at 8.30am in Lambert Smith Hampton Office (Clarence House, 4-10 May Street, Belfast, BT1 4NJ) and will be an opportunity for both BCTC members and non-members to hear first-hand all of the rules and regulations surrounding all things rent and tenancy related.

Paul Wilson, Director, Lambert Smith Hampton said: “This event will cover key topics specifically related to the Belfast business owner currently leasing or thinking about getting involved in a lease agreement. We will be covering rent reviews, service charges, repair and dilapidations and that all important tenancy agreement and renewal rights.”

Maria Conway, Director, MKB Law, “We will be adding to this mix by informing delegates about the legalities surrounding business tenancies and the requirements by both landlords and tenants. The event is intended to be informative as well as being an open forum where attendees will be given a chance to ask questions specifically related to their own situation.”

Paul McMahon, President, Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce said: “In addition to our very successful lobbying activities, Belfast Chamber works closely with our members to deliver business workshops and seminars.

“We also ensure that our events help members to protect and grow their business by providing them with as much information at our disposal as possible.

“The rights and regulations surrounding business tenancy can be a minefield, and we are delighted to welcome two of our professional members to host this event.”
