Giro Festival – Get On Yer Bike!

An eight-day Giro festival: “Get on yer bike!” is running to celebrate Belfast being chosen as the starting point of the Giro d’Italia.

Themes of food, fashion, art, architecture, music and performance have been chosen which have been shaken up and given an Italian and pink twist!

Highlights of the festival include:

  • the Linen Hall Library’s exhibition on the bicycle in Irish literature
  • the Ulster Hall’s programme of Italian-themed movies and cycling talks
  • the Ulster Museum’s discovery zones
  • the Get on yer bike! hub at Cathedral Gardens and Writers’ Square (8 to 10 May)

Keep an eye out for cycling street theatre and all things pink programmed alongside the Festival of Fools (3 to 5 May). And there’s a special performance of The Third Policeman as part of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival (1 to 11 May).

The programme can be downloaded here: Giro Festival; Get On Yer Bike!
