Belfast Chamber calls on John Lewis to consider Belfast
Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce has called on John Lewis to consider coming to Belfast.
Belfast Chamber President Joe Jordan said: “In my view the Environment Minister is simply protecting our town centres as part of planning policy and I support the Minister in this, as it protects every city and town centre in Northern Ireland.
“The Royal Exchange redevelopment in the north east quarter of Belfast City Centre was given planning permission last year. The design plan for this development meets the needs for an anchor tenant with the exact design requirements of John Lewis.
“By locating in Belfast, John Lewis would attract further investment into our city and there would be no displacement of employment or retail offer.
Joe concluded, “Belfast City Centre has the required footplate to accommodate a John Lewis store and they would be warmly welcome.”
